A professional writer for nearly 30 years, Alice Roche Cody crafted a weekly education column and reported for The Record (Hackensack, NJ), served as a promotions specialist for Rutgers, taught college journalism classes and volunteered as a media strategist for a local political committee. Alice's portfolio includes features, profiles, news stories, cover stories, grants, speeches, annual reports, donor wall vignettes, newsletters, essays, invites, email blasts, biographies, brochures, video scripts and press releases. Her client list includes prep schools, sports agencies, universities, start-ups, soup kitchens, non-profits and foundations.

Alice also assists high school students crafting college essays. A seasoned interviewer, she asks pointed questions during consultations to help students discover their story. Then she assists with revisions, helping pupils develop evocative and compelling essays.

A member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators, Alice is completing a middle-grade novel about a 12-and-under baseball travel team. She’s a frequent contributor to nj.com and The Rumpus. Her personal narrative, “A Sacred Gift,” was one of 60 essays selected from more than 100,000 submissions for inclusion in the book, This I Believe: On Motherhood (Wiley & Sons).
